My process is inquisitive, collaborative, and even fun! Visual learner? Me too! I use illustrative examples to help explain technical concepts, and I love to tell product stories with imagery that highlights what sets you and your product apart from the rest: your impact.
When I first met Kate, I had no concept of what it took to actually create a product... let alone design one. Kate guided us through discovery workshops, helped us outline an MVP and we delivered the first usable product in less than 120 days. - FRANK KIRK
Once we’ve validated our early concepts, we can come up with a timeline to get it developed for real. Your roadmap will outline what features you’ll build first and when you might plan to release it to your users… and we’ll speculate what new features you might build after that!
We’ll figure out who your ideal users or customers are, and then we’ll design an early no-code version of your app to test with real people - to make sure it makes sense and is valuable to them. It’s like checking-yourself-before-you-wreck-yourself.
Define a thin-slice Minimum Viable Product (MVP) user experience flow for a set of target user personas. We’ll begin to validate our ideas with real people by testing a prototype. Then we’ll plan a roadmap for upcoming research, eventual development and release.
You’ve got an idea for the Next Big Thing, but you’re not sure what to do next to move it forward. I’ll help you detangle the early decisions and details, work to validate your thinking with real customers and together, we’ll craft a realistic plan to make the product happen. We'll make sure to prioritize the biggest, riskiest decisions first to ensure you set yourself up for growth.
Good product managers are the voice of a customer and an organization. Kate consistently demonstrated the ability to build and maintain roadmaps of high-impact, working closely with teams to drive the highest value. - MAHIL MAURICE
But there’s good news! With the right information and language to explain the value behind your idea, we’ll create a presentation you can use to get these decision-makers to agree to collaborate with you on your product.
I can even help facilitate meetings, plan agendas and present (virtually!) on your behalf. After all, Theatre major, remember?
If you can’t write code yourself, you’re likely going to need software engineers to help you build your product. You may need to convince company stakeholders to prioritize their development teams’ time to focus on your product, or if you don’t have access to developers, you’ll need funding to pay for a development team to build it for you.
Work to create a clear, compelling presentation that can be used to pitch your product ideas to internal stakeholders, enter pitch competitions, or gain funding from investors.
You’ve got a high-level product plan, but now you need the buy-in to get it built. I’ll help you frame your product’s value proposition along with key development details to create a product proposal they can’t refuse.
Kate’s love and passion for product management is obvious from the moment you start talking to her. She cares deeply about creating something useful, functional and beautiful. Kate taught and trained me on product management and everything I understand now about Agile software development is thanks to her. - GRACE YI

I’ll even help to connect you to recruiters who contact me about product opportunities!
